In my opinion, no. I believe Pattinson was a great choice for this role mainly because he’s got that dark, shy side to him that you can see in every role he plays, and he has given vampires a new and fresh sexiness.
I recently took it upon myself to look up this question online, and one of the answers that I found right away didn’t really surprise me at all. People are saying that Paul Wesley would have been another great casting decision. While I do think Pattinson was a great choice for playing this role, I also do not disagree with the theory that Wesley would have been equally as great. Paul Wesley also has that dark sexiness about him, and would have brought some maturity to Edward Cullen that I don’t think Pattinson really had in the beginning.
I also found another answer to this question, and this one took me by complete surprise. There are people out there that are asking if Heath Ledger could have pulled off a better Edward. Again, in my opinion, no. While he is a great actor, he could not have pulled off playing a 17 year old vampire. Sorry Heath!

For die hard Twillight fans, the city of Forkes in Washington is really the perfect setting for the movie, and the dark and meadowy forecasts which the scenes entail. The city offers a great contrast in the forests, meadows, and even waterways which you have seen in your favorite series, and offers the perfect background for the gloomy overcast and tones of the film. The gloomy setting, overcast weather, and dark overtones are so due to the state’s temperate climate region, and where the city sits. Plus, being right by olympic national park, this has offered the perfect setting for the films to be cast in.

If you are a fan of the twillight books, you will know this is the exact scene setup the author had in mind. And, there are not many regions in the country which get this kind of setting year round. So, with the dark silhouttes, gloomy weather and dark under tones, fans of the series know this is the perfect filming location, and has been for the first three movies in the series, and will definately be for the final part of the series, which fans have come to love, even more so than the books.

Don-t be embarrassed, embrace it! Here are a few of the best reasons why it-s great to be a Guy Who Loves Twilight
Kristin Stewart: She-s hot! There-s nothing more appealing than an angst ridden Bella and it-s the reason any self-respecting dude loves to check out the films.
Girl Points: If you-ve got a girlfriend she-s going to love that you love Twilight. You-ll get tons of points for going to Breaking Dawn with her but remember not to act too excited.
Violence: Yes, there are harder hitting films out there but who wouldn-t pay money to watch a vampire take on..other vampires? And what about werewolves on vampires? It-s better than video games!
You-re a Romantic: If you liked Twilight you probably liked “The Notebook,’ too but that-s okay, it just means you-re a romantic. You love love and when you find the one someday that quality-s going to come in handy.

For the first time in saga history, Twilight fans will finally have an answer to the epic Team Edward vs. Team Jacob debate uncontrolled by Bella Swan, or, in a more literal interpretation, Stephanie Meyer. In fact, the decision is up to you, as the 37th People’s Choice Awards, the award show decided by voter response, has pitted Robert Pattinson against Taylor Lautner in the very same category. Like Bella’s affection, both young stars have had a People’s Choice Award well within their grasp, with Lautner taking home the “Favorite Breakout Movie Actor” title last year, and the duo, alongside cast mate Kristen Stewart, winning the “Favorite On Screen Team” title. Pattinson was nominated for the prestigious “Favorite Movie Actor” award a year ago, but lost out to Johnny Depp in a field that also included Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds. This year, Lautner steps up to the elite level joining Pattinson among the “Favorite Movie Actor” nominees, as they will both also face stiff competition in the form of returning champion Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert Downey Jr. A proverbial who’s-who of heartthrobs, it remains to be seen whether Titanic flashbacks, the world’s sexiest swashbuckler or Iron Man himself can steal votes away from Team Jacob or Team Edward devotees, splitting sacred allegiances towards one side or the other. After all, every Twilight girl has a favorite between the two, but let’s be honest, the entire category is can’t-miss, boiling to the decision down to far more than brooding vs. brawny. Now that nominees have been named, voting is already underway online at peopleschoice.com. The opinion here is that there’s no way to make a bad choice looking at this group, but considering what a sensitive subject Team Edward vs. Team Jacob has become, some girls will certainly want a final say. So vote early, vote often, and channel your inner-Bella, as your wildest dreams have finally come true. The choice between Edward and Jacob is yours at last.

Any true and dedicated fan should know the story behind Midnight Sun, but for those of you who’ve somehow missed it, we’ll give you a brief recap. After Breaking Dawn, the final book in the Twilight saga was released, Stephanie Meyer was working on a new project to retell the whole story from Edward’s perspective. The first of these books was called Midnight Sun. Sometime in the summer of 2008, an unfinished manuscript was illegally leaked onto the Internet, to the dismay of the author and excitement of many fans. On her official website, Stephanie Meyer posted somewhat of a rant about the ways this leak had violated her as a person and an author and questioned whether she could continue writing. In the post the claims to have concluded that her fans have a right to read what is posted and the partial draft is now available on the website, but the novel is on hold indefinitely. Having read it myself, Midnight Sun is definitely worth the read and should be continued. Though it is the exact same story, changing the perspective adds an entirely new dimension and allows us to better understand how the love between Edward and Bella came to be.The question remains, if and when we will ever see a completed novel. Meyer recently released her new book, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, which is about the experience of one of the newborns in Eclipse. However, no more has been said about Midnight Sun. Some speculate that as success continues with the original series, between book and movie sales, that the project will remain on hold until things slow down. Many critics say this is a plot by Meyer to drag out the success of Twilight as long as possible. Then again, perhaps she truly was too heartbroken by the leak to go on. In the end, though, I think the right amount of money can heal any broken heart.

Unlike the first three movies, which were each released within a year of the previous one, fans now have to wait a year and a half until the first part of breaking dawn is released. Now that the high of Eclipse is beginning to fade, we’re all setting our sights on November 11, 2011 when Edward and Bella will hit the screen again for the first of the final two movies. Most fans agree that Breaking Dawn was the most action-packed of the novels, and we expect nothing less from the film. One of the most exciting aspects of this movie will be Edward and Bella’s relationship. If you’re on Team Edward then nothing is more exciting than the thought of these two finally saying “I do.” And even better than that, the vampire-human sex scene might be the most highly anticipated scene of the entire series; something we’ve all be waiting for. Since these movies are geared toward a young, teenage-girl audience, it will be interesting to see how the director, Bill Condon, creates this scene so as to keep it audience appropriate without losing the passion we read in the books.Another, avidly-discussed question is the way in which they will portray Bella’s pregnancy and the birth of Renesmee; the human-vampire baby. After seeing Avatar, I think we all know today’s advanced graphics will remove any restrictions associated with creating this semi-human character. We’ve certainly seen our fair share of action scenes in the series so far, between phasing werewolves and vampire battles, but the ultimate fight awaits us in Breaking Dawn as the Cullens and the werewolves take on the Volturi. If you’re curious about what to expect, many fans have taken it upon themselves to create their own trailer, while we all patiently await the release of the first official Breaking Dawn-Part 1 theater.

When it comes to rating the first three movies in the Twilight saga, we all have our personal favorite. The box office is partial to New Moon, with Eclipse following closely behind. And depending on whether you consider yourself part of Team Edward or Team Jacob may determine which movie you pick as your favorite. We’ve attempted to come up with our analysis of the films up to this point and have ranked them accordingly.Though it was a tough call since we love every one, bringing home the gold is…Eclipse. The scale and quality of production seems to have improved with each new film, with the most recent being leaps and bounds beyond what appeared to be a low-budget independent work in the first movie. Eclipse also had the best balance of the two leading men. While Twilight was dominated by Edward and New Moon focused on Jacob, Eclipse kept them both in the lime light and we even enjoyed some competitive banter between the two. Though New Moon had the best box office performance, Eclipse wasn’t far behind. In our humble opinion, second place belongs to Twilight. For many, this is a surprising rank considering box office numbers and production figures. However, though it was lower quality than we would have liked, the first movie exposes the heart of the story and has one of the most gripping scenes of the series so far, as Edward rescues Bella from the horrific death James attempts to bestow upon her. Perhaps it’s a special connection we Twilight fans feel with this original book that first captured our hearts. And finally, though it seems sacrilegious to give any Twilight movie last place, New Moon comes in at a close third. Though it’s no fault of the directors that this was one of the less eventful books of the series, there is a long span in the middle of the plot where very little happens. This is definitely a transitional book and the movie reflects just that. While many of us enjoyed seeing the grown up, buffed up Jacob, having Edward so far removed from much of the movie lost it major points in our book.It should go without saying, but we have yet to find a Twilight movie that we don’t absolutely love, but if we have to pick our favorites, there you have it.

Some call them sappy, we call them touching. Edward and Bella’s complicated yet fairytale romance has more than its fair share of touching moments. As if reading the lines of the book didn’t paint a perfect enough picture, now we’ve got the movies to bring their love to life. Narrowing this list down to five seemed like an impossible task, but for better or worse we’ve picked our five favorite Bella and Edward moments. Watch them for the first time and you will be instantly captivated by this story or look at them again and experience the magic all over again.

“You Are My Life Now.” (Twilight): When Edward uttered these five words to Bella in chapter 15 of the first book we were all completely dazzled. But nothing would compare to the fluttering hearts of every teenage girl in America as we watched Robert Pattinson flawlessly deliver this line on screen.

Bella Saves Edward (New Moon): In a series where Edward has time and time again rescued Bella’s fragile life, finally she has the chance to save the love of her life from self destruction even though she thinks he no longer cares for her. The reunion that follows is absolutely perfect.

Edward Saves Bella from James (Twilight): Just when we think the strong, unbeatable Edward will lose Bella to this monster, he, once again, saves the day. Robert Pattinson’s own song that accompanies this scene as he struggles not to suck the life out of Bella makes for the perfect ending to the first movie.

The Proposal (Eclipse): Even though Edward’s unwillingness to explore their physical relationship was frustrating at times, I think somewhere we all admired his commitment. So when he proposes with the most touching of lines we were not only elated that the two will finally be married but that we can finally look forward to a little action.

The Prom Dance (Twilight): After the struggle these two have faced in only the first few months of their relationship, against Bella’s protesting, they finally get to experience a normal teenage milestone together; prom. Edward whisks her around the perfectly-lit gazebo to the appropriate tune of Flightless Bird by Iron and Wine in a romantic ending to the first film.

To an outsider this may sound like absolute nonsense, but to the faithful followers of the Twilight saga, this is both a reasonable question and an understandable concern. When we all read the final book of the series and experienced the birth and growth of Edward and Bella’s baby we were both awe struck and horrified. This unearthly creature that nearly tore its mother apart by its own existence is also unbelievably loving and intelligent. When most of us imagine Renesmee Cullen we picture a beautiful, porcelain-skinned toddler most likely a brunette with longer hair and perhaps gentle curls. That alone, wouldn’t create much of a casting predicament. However, this is no overage little girl. Having been conceived by a human and a vampire, she possesses very unusual traits. In the book, Renesmee ages at an inhumane pace and begins speaking within a week of being born. She grows both mentally and physically beyond the pace of any human. Therefore, if the directors stick to the details from the book, they will most likely have to cast multiple girls to play the different stages of Renesmee. Another challenge will be to find a toddler who is both small enough to appear to be Renesmee’s age yet mature and intelligent enough to convey the intelligence of this character. Many speculate that they will cast a petite child, who appears to be only a few years old, but is actually 4 or 5, and therefore will appear to have the higher mental capacity of Renesmee. Because Renesmee is not born until later in the novel, the child may not make an appearance until the second movie of the last book, meaning we may be waiting a little longer to find out who’s been cast as the little, human-vampire baby.
