Edward or Jacob? It’s up to you!
For the first time in saga history, Twilight fans will finally have an answer to the epic Team Edward vs. Team Jacob debate uncontrolled by Bella Swan, or, in a more literal interpretation, Stephanie Meyer. In fact, the decision is up to you, as the 37th People’s Choice Awards, the award show decided by voter response, has pitted Robert Pattinson against Taylor Lautner in the very same category. Like Bella’s affection, both young stars have had a People’s Choice Award well within their grasp, with Lautner taking home the “Favorite Breakout Movie Actor” title last year, and the duo, alongside cast mate Kristen Stewart, winning the “Favorite On Screen Team” title. Pattinson was nominated for the prestigious “Favorite Movie Actor” award a year ago, but lost out to Johnny Depp in a field that also included Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.This year, Lautner steps up to the elite level joining Pattinson among the “Favorite Movie Actor” nominees, as they will both also face stiff competition in the form of returning champion Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert Downey Jr. A proverbial who’s-who of heartthrobs, it remains to be seen whether Titanic flashbacks, the world’s sexiest swashbuckler or Iron Man himself can steal votes away from Team Jacob or Team Edward devotees, splitting sacred allegiances towards one side or the other. After all, every Twilight girl has a favorite between the two, but let’s be honest, the entire category is can’t-miss, boiling to the decision down to far more than brooding vs. brawny. (more…)
